GoEast’s Chinese Day Camp in Shanghai gives kids and teens an immersive Mandarin learning experience in a small-group setting. Students are grouped by age and placed according to Chinese level, from complete beginner to advanced, with groups of up to 8 students. Families can choose a half-day Academic Chinese Booster focused on structured language learning, or a full-day Chinese Cultural Adventure combining morning Mandarin classes with afternoon cultural activities and local exploration. The camp is held at GoEast’s Zhongshan Park campus in central Shanghai and is designed for visiting international families, Shanghai-based expat families, and GoEast online students. It is a day camp only, with no overnight accommodation.
Mandarin learning is at the core of the program. Students are grouped by age and placed into beginner, intermediate, or advanced classes based on a short level check and family input. Small groups of up to 8 allow teachers to adapt instruction to students’ needs. Morning Mandarin classes focus on practical language use, helping students build confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and communication while using Chinese with teachers and peers throughout the camp day.
Full-day campers take part in guided cultural activities and local exploration across Shanghai. Sample experiences include Chinese calligraphy, ink painting, kung fu, dumpling and bao making, ping pong, pottery, museum visits, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and a family discovery day at a Shanghai water town. Activities vary by session and are designed to connect Mandarin learning with Chinese culture and everyday life.
GoEast is a day camp and does not provide overnight accommodation. Students return to their family or local guardian each evening.
