Chester College International School’s Spanish Summer Camp takes place in Santiago de Compostela, on the green, safe, and culturally rich northwestern coast of Spain. Since 1984, our family-founded boutique camp has welcomed young people from around the world to learn Spanish through a balanced blend of daily language lessons, sports, arts, and cultural activities. Campers live and learn in a warm, family-style environment where individual attention and real communication make language learning natural and enjoyable. Afternoon and weekend excursions allow students to explore Santiago and the beautiful Galician region — from its beaches and medieval towns to its forests and UNESCO World Heritage landmarks — while forming friendships and memories that last well beyond the summer.
The Spanish program welcomes students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Daily lessons place a strong emphasis on oral communication and real-life language use, while small, ability-based groups ensure personalised attention. Programs are flexible and can be tailored to each participant’s needs and goals, helping every student gain fluency, confidence, and enjoyment in learning Spanish.
Afternoons and evenings are filled with a variety of activities that bring learning to life beyond the classroom — from sports and creative workshops to drama, music, and team challenges. Students also join Spanish campers from Chester’s English programs for shared sports sessions and evening events, creating authentic opportunities for language practice and friendship. Weekend excursions allow campers to discover Santiago de Compostela and Galicia’s most beautiful coastal and cultural sites.
Campers are housed in comfortable, separate male and female residences, supervised by dedicated dorm parents who provide round-the-clock care and support. The atmosphere is warm and family-style, helping students feel at home from day one.
