A parent's guide to volunteering camps
Summer camps offering volunteering range from programmes built entirely around it to broader camps where it is one activity among many. Both are worth considering, and the difference is usually visible in the timetable rather than the description, so it is worth asking for one before you book.
The questions that matter are much the same wherever volunteering is taught: how many hours a day, how many children per instructor, and what a child leaves with at the end of the week. A camp that answers all three plainly is usually a camp that has thought about them.
Every camp below has been reviewed by our editorial team before going live. Use the filters to narrow by dates, budget, length and whether you want residential or day.
