Spend four inspiring weeks in Cologne and join an international community of students at CBS International Business School. Our Summer Programme combines high-quality academics with real-world insights, hands-on learning, and exciting excursions across one of Europe’s most vibrant student cities. Choose from three academically rich modules in sustainability, smart cities, or European politics and economics. Learn from experienced lecturers, discuss real industry challenges, and explore Cologne together with students from all over the world. Whether you aim to broaden your global perspective, strengthen your professional profile, or simply make new international friends – this programme is designed to offer an engaging and unforgettable summer experience.
The academic side of the programme offers a choice of one or two modules (6 or 12 ECTS). Each course is taught by experienced lecturers who combine theory with practical relevance through case studies, discussions, and real-world examples. Topics include sustainability, smart city development, and the European Union, giving students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and strengthen key analytical and professional skills. The cost of participation in the Summer Programme varies depending on the number of modules chosen. One module is priced at 990 €, while two modules are available at a reduced rate of 1,750 €. Beyond tuition fees, students should also keep in mind additional expenses such as accommodation, meals, and transportation.
Students in the Summer Programme can look forward to a well-rounded mix of academic, cultural, and social activities. In past years, students have enjoyed: ● City tours of Cologne and Bonn ● Visits to cultural landmarks like the castle in Brühl ● Hiking excursions to Drachenfels ● Company visits to top firms including UPS, Chempark, and Europapunkt ● Community-building events such as an international dinner, where students share food and traditions from their home countries The line-up varies each year, but participants can always look forward to a rich combination of cultural experiences, networking opportunities, and community events alongside their academic studies.
Participants can apply for a place in the CBS student residence, located within easy reach of campus and well connected to the city centre. Spaces are limited, but once your participation is confirmed, you will receive full information about how to apply, along with alternative housing options so you can choose what suits you best.
