About this camp

Braunwald Summer camp in Liddes-Saint Bernard is a springtime language and activity programme for youths aged 9–17 set in the Swiss Alps, where full-board accommodation is provided in a friendly chalet or with local host families and students can choose to study English, German or French (from beginner to advanced) in small classes (maximum of 6 students) focusing on practical communication and fun learning methods.

Alongside daily language lessons (Monday–Friday mornings), the camp offers a varied schedule of outdoor activities, excursions to local and regional highlights, workshops and evening social events, plus optional extras like horse riding, intensive language lessons or tennis, all with 24/7 supervision in a scenic alpine environment.

Academics

The academic side of the Braunwald summer camp offers small, interactive language classes in French, German, or English, designed to improve practical communication skills through engaging activities, games, and real-life scenarios, with personalized attention from experienced teachers to ensure progress for all levels from beginner to advanced.

Nearest hospitalDoctor clinic for small issues about 100m from our camp, there is also a medical practice in Linthal, around 10 minutes from the camp and, iIf needed, we take the kids to a hospital in Glarus, about 25 minutes from our camp.

PhonesPhones allowed at set times. Participants will be entitled to use their cell phones and other electronic devices every day for 60-90 minutes after lunch OR dinner and during excursions.

A typical day

Language classes run Monday to Friday. Afternoons have workshops or intensive classes, or a half-day excursion. Evenings have activities such as thematic evenings, campfires, sports tournaments, discos and games. Saturday is a full-day excursion. Arrival is on Sunday.

Afternoons offer a variety of workshops, including football, basketball, tennis, painting, dance, graffiti and cooking, alongside exciting excursions to explore the Swiss Alps and surrounding region. Evenings feature discos, karaoke, casino nights, film nights, campfires and games.

Each stay includes two half-day excursions and one full-day excursion on Saturday, with destinations such as Lake Zurich, Lake Walen, the Lindt Home of Chocolate and local nature attractions.

Accommodation and food

Participants stay in comfortable full-board accommodation in Braunwald, in a welcoming alpine setting with 24/7 supervision, meals, and a friendly international atmosphere that encourages learning and social interaction.

The camp offers shared rooms, providing opportunities to make new friends and enjoy the experience together. The dormitory is included at no extra cost, while a 4–6-bed room with a shared bathroom costs an additional 150 CHF per week, and a 4–6-bed room with a private bathroom costs 300 CHF per week.

A 2-bed room with a private bathroom is available for an extra 450 CHF per week, while a single room with a shared bathroom costs 575 CHF per week and a single room with a private bathroom costs 600 CHF per week.
